About John Posey
JOHN POSEY is in his fifth decade as a professional actor, writer and producer, working out of
both Los Angeles and New York.
He is an in-demand acting coach, in his eighth year of teaching SCENE STUDY to actors of all. ages. He is the rare acting coach who works comfortably with both kids and adults. He conducts both live and virtual scene study classes as well as live/virtual private coaching and self-taping sessions for actors on both coasts. John generates his scenes from a variety of sources; iconic film, stage, books, sketch comedy, TV and original scenes. He also encourages actors to write their own scenes for class. This is how he learned to write his own plays and screenplays.
As an actor, Posey has performed extensively in television, film and stage. His many TV/FILM credits include BETTER CALL SAUL, EAST NY, 9-1-1- LONE-STAR, SEINFELD, FROM THE EARTH TO
THE MOON, LEGENDARY, TEEN WOLF, WMD, MANHUNTER, E.R. NCIS, NEWS RADIO, BOSTON LEGAL, 24, CHEERS, CRIMINAL MINDS, HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, to name just a few.
He has also appeared in or voiced hundreds of national television and radio commercials for virtually every top ad agency in the industry. As a veteran of the commercial world, John can
also teach the finer points of that art as well.
As a writer Posey has written screenplays for Disney, HBO, SONY, WWE Film Studios and PAX TV. His film, LEGENDARY, starring Patricia Clarkson, John Cena and Danny Glover, was produced
in 2010. His biopic about GORGEOUS GEORGE is currently in development. His spec script WHERE MY SPIRIT RIDES is also in development.
Posey also wrote, produced and starred in the critically acclaimed one-man, live production of FATHER, SON & HOLY COACH, which toured the country for more than two decades. The show began as a simple writing assignment back in 1990.
John is married to Amy Lord. They share seven kids, three of whom – Jesse, Jamie, and Tyler -are actors as well.
